This series is about amplifying the unique stories and talents of our region. We believe in the power of theatre to bring people together — and with Community Voices, we’re creating a space where that power is shared by all.
As part of this exciting new series, PacRep will sponsor selected proposals for low-tech theatrical presentations to be staged in its intimate Circle Theatre at the Golden Bough Playhouse or the iconic Indoor Forest Theater. These artist-driven events will include play readings, staged readings, one-acts. improv nights, solo performances, original works, storytelling events, and even recognized classic or modern plays reimagined on a minimalist scale.
“Community Voices is our invitation to the Central Coast's vibrant creative community to take center stage,” said Stephen Moorer, Executive Artistic Director of PacRep. “We’re offering our spaces and our platform to help artists bring their ideas to life — whether they're polished plays or bold experiments in storytelling.”
PacRep encourages proposals from both emerging and established creatives, including but not limited to:
• Original works or works-in-progress
• Improv troupes and spoken word artists
• Playwrights seeking to present staged readings
• Directors reinterpreting classic or contemporary works on a minimalist scale
• Solo performances and storytelling events
• Collaborative or community-devised projects
