Poisoning Pigeons - A Tribute to Tom Lehrer, Dec 4 - Dec 19, Golden Bough Theatre Michael Jacobs will star as the relentlessly witty professor, Tom Lehrer, who made his first satiric impact while a Harvard undergraduate and, for almost 15 years into the mid-1960s, continued writing his biting songs and performing them around the country in clubs and concerts. Ultimately, he quit writing and performing, leaving behind a library of ditties that still have significance today. Known for their "witty naughtiness," Lehrer's offbeat humor and silly lyrics include outrageous commentary on everything from the military to the political to the social and are set to light soft-shoe and raucous burlesque. The song list includes The Vatican Rag, The Masochism Tango, Smut, and Poisoning Pigeons in the Park. Director/Adaptor Stephen Moorer has received special permission from Mr. Lehrer to inflict his unique material once again on the general public!
