Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Aug 16 - Sept 23, Outdoor Forest Theater

PacRep is pleased to return to the outdoor Forest Theater with the Broadway hit, Beauty and the Beast. In 1991 Disney produced the most famous animated film of Beauty and the Beast with screenplay by Linda Woolverton, music by Alan Menken, and lyrics by Howard Ashman. It won Academy Awards for Best Song and Best Original Score and was the first animated feature ever nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.

The Disney film was then adapted for the stage by Linda Woolverton and Alan Menken with lyricist Howard Ashman, and additional lyrics by Tim Rice. Five new songs, "No Matter What", "Home", "Me", "If I Can't Love Her", and "Human Again" were added to those appearing in the original cartoon score. This was the first major production by Disney Theatrical. It opened in 1994 to solid critical acclaim and is still running, making it the 6th longest running show on Broadway.
